Joe Papaleo
Joe has over 30 years of experience organizing and directing youth soccer camps across the county. Along with his 28 years of experience coaching in Central New York, Joe was a part owner and organizer of one of the most successful soccer camps in Texas, Tatu's All Star Camp. The camp averaged 1200 boys and girls ages six to sixteen every year.
Joe looks forward to his 28th annual soccer camp this year following another successful season as Head Coach of the Christian Brothers Academy Boys Varsity Soccer Team. Joe has led the Brothers to over 300 wins throughout his twenty seven years as head coach. Christian Brothers Academy has won twelve section three titles, seven regional titles and two State Championships under Joe's leadership. In 1995 and 2007, Joe was named “Coach of the Year” by the Syracuse Post-Standard. Joe was also named New York State Private School Coach of the Year in 2001. In 2005, Joe was elected into the Greater Syracuse Hall of Fame for his career as a player and a coach. He is the first and only soccer player in the Syracuse Hall of Fame. In 2013, he was an assistant coach for the Syracuse Silver Knights of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Joe began his career in soccer as an All American at Syracuse University, National Sports Festival M.V.P., first round draft pick of the New York Cosmos of the N.A.S.L. and the Pittsburgh Spirit of the M.I.S.L. As a professional, Joe was named to the M.I.S.L. All Star Team four times and was first Team All-Pro three times. In 1993, Joe was awarded Goalkeeper of the Year in the Major Indoor Soccer League. Joe’s thirteen years as a professional soccer player and youth soccer coach has given him the knowledge and experience to run a successful youth soccer camp in Central New York.
